Aerojet Rocketdyne seeks an Analyst, Materiel Program Management to join our Supply Chain Material Management organization at our facility in Canoga Park, CA.


The Analyst, Materiel Program Manager (MPM) will work with Engineering, Operations, Program Management and Suppliers supporting Liquid Engine Programs. This position will report to Material Program Management. The successful individual will work closely with senior MPMs to provide Supply Chain/Materiel Management (SC/MM) representation and guidance in support of Business Unit and Business Development activities. They are responsible for instructing the SC/MM team in developing and documenting strategies, plans, and processes for integration into the Program Management plan. Working directly with Program Management as the primary customer contact representing Supply Chain program activities.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

The Analyst, MPM will work closely with Senior MPMs to provide status on the cost, schedule, and technical performance for the SC/MM portion of programs; the development of proposals, including Priced Bills of Material and direct labor; support of contract negotiations; coordination of SC/MM activities; and management of program budgets. Lead program review sessions with suppliers and act as the primary interface to Leadership for assigned programs. Be customer-focused and provide the best, most cost-effective systems or capabilities; within contract bounds, innovate, strive for optimal solutions and seek better ways to manage; be candid about program status, including risks and problems, as well as potential solutions. Must have Buying Experience.


35% - Manage the cost, schedule, PO placement, and technical performance of the SC/MM activities for assigned program(s).

25% - Act as primary interface to management for the execution of assigned programs.

20% - Prepare and make presentations to program leadership.

15% - Monitor supplier quality and delivery performance identify problems and coordinate solutions with suppliers, lead all reviews with suppliers.

10% - Prepare and maintain priced bills of material. Read and understand Customer RFP requirements and documents and communicates ground rules/assumptions used in proposals. Support proposal and material pricing activities associated with responding to customer RFPs.




Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to effectively lead and manage projects.
  • Ability to analyze material consumption and project future trends.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, EVMS, issue escalation, Supply Chain practices and sources for procuring goods and services.
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize work assignments to meet designated schedules.
  • Ability to provide administrative leadership to accomplish goals and commitments.
  • Must be able to use MS Office Programs.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications in areas such as Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Program Management, Contracts Management, Purchasing Management, Production, and Inventory Control, etc.
  • Familiarity with aerospace rocket motor program materials and manufacturing processes.


Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
