Overview

Aerojet Rocketdyne seeks a Manufacturing Technician to join our growing facility in Camden, Arkansas. Works under general supervision with instructions given for routine work, and detailed instructions given for new activities or special assignments.

 

This current opening may be filled at this level as posted or at one level higher.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

50% - Troubleshoot and check out instrumentation problems such as a shorted or open circuit due to instrument cable problems. Troubleshoot and set the conditioning box controls.

 

10% - Support Process Engineers by setting up and operating experimental or prototype equipment to meet processing requirements.

 

10% - Perform basic analysis, calculations, statistics, and assist in preparing reports on above activities.

 

15% - Set up and support EXTEF functional tests such as Slow Cook Off, Fast Cook Off, Bullet Impact and other Insensitive Munitions Testing.

 

15% - Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

High School diploma (or equivalent) and one (1) year of directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in soldering, wiring, application, and troubleshooting instrumentation.
  • Experience in working to an engineering drawing or blueprints.
  • Ability to terminate a cable to a multi-pin connector with a pin out diagram.
  • Experience in video camera and high speed video camera set up and operation.
  • Existing clearance would be a plus.

 

 

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

The work environment may require a combination of indoor and outdoor activity (hot, cold, wet, humid conditions) with a varied amount of walking, standing, sitting, climbing (i.e. ladders, stair, scaffolding, ramps), balance (maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces), bending, reaching, handling/fingering (seizing, holding, grasping, turning picking, pinching), stooping, kneeling, crouching and ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, employees may work around variable noise levels. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. May also be required to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer. Ability to distinguish colors may also be necessary. Some employees may be required to drive between various locations within the Company facility or between locations. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
