Overview

Aerojet Rocketdyne seeks an Analyst, Materiel Program Management to join our Supply Chain and Material Management (SCMM) organization at our Huntsville, AL location.

 

In this role, you will work with Aerojet Rocketdyne Program Management, Pricing and Estimating, Operations and Contracts. Contributes to producing accurate, responsive, compliant, on-time priced Bills of Material in support of cost proposals.

 

Prepares the Bill of Materials (BOM) for the SCMM organization in support of Aerojet Rocketdyne Proposals in compliance with estimating and procurement standards and company procedures. Responsible for estimating and costing both development and production type BOMs with moderate degrees of complexity and risk. Utilizes appropriate methodology and rationale.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

Work is performed under general supervision, follows established direction and procedures to determine approach to objectives, demonstrates an understanding and application of basic principles, concepts and practices.

 

85% - Reads and understands RFP requirements and documents and communicates ground rules/assumptions used in proposals. This position generally performs the following in support of the cost Proposal Bill of Material:

  • Work with Engineering and Manufacturing to obtain the latest BOM to initiate the estimating process;
  • Work with Program Management and Integrated Product Teams to determine BOM requirements based on the statement of work (SOW) including tooling, test units, spares or any materials not identified on the latest BOM;
  • Work with functional areas to identify excess usage factors;
  • Identify current quote requirements in order to achieve 80% or more of the Proposed BOM;
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain Material Program Managers to initiate the supplier quote process;
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain Material Planners to assure current inventory, material transfers and historical part pricing;
  • Review quotes received and populate the PBOM;
  • Incorporate escalation, quantify curves and extend pricing for required quantities;
  • Produce PBOM Addendums and other schedules;
  • Focal for all estimates, proposal substantiation, PBOM development, and audit files;
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with FAR/TINA requirements on proposal substantiation, basis of estimates, fact-finding, and negotiations.

 

15% - Provide Supply Chain Material Management support on programs of moderate size, risk and complexity including cost, schedule, and technical performance of suppliers.

  • Provides functional interface with internal and external customers.
  • Monitors supply chain performance and status.
  • Supports technical, program and supply chain in the resolution of suppliers issues based on specific goals, policy and established procedures.
  • May support multiple programs simultaneously.
  • Conceives and plans process improvement projects involving the development of new approaches and methods to attain objectives.

Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's degree and three (3) or more years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires great attention to detail and communication expertise.

 

US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with aerospace rocket motor program materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics, analytical aptitude, strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with MS Office, especially advanced use of MS Excel.
  • General knowledge of Aerojet Rocketdyne supply chain procedures, writing and audit methods.

 

 

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Employees in this position must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. This position may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
