Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support assignments at our Huntsville, AL facility. The Senior Project Engineer will plan and perform propulsion program tasks in conjunction with program management. Under general supervision and following established policies, you will implement design and analysis tasks, special studies, experiments and hardware/test requirements. Additionally, you will coordinate ballistic, thermal, and structural analyses, as well as perform post-test examination, analyses, and reporting.
65% - Support Engineering teams working on tactical solid rocket motor development and production program tasks/problem resolution/requirements definition, etc. Direct and coordinate all engineering work; manage technical progress and schedule and cost status as needed.
15% - Monitor technical progress and interface with Program Manager, Aerojet Rocketdyne customers, and other Aerojet Rocketdyne functional organizations to understand and develop resolution to program technical issues.
10% - Provide technical consultation to Program Management and Business Development organizations on business development activities such as writing white papers or preparing and presenting technical briefings to customers.
5% - Technical Lead on proposals to government customers or prime contractors for propulsion development or technology programs.
5% - Provide written and verbal status reports to Aerojet Rocketdyne Management, and provide leadership at product team meetings.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline) and five or more years of experience with solid propellant propulsion projects, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. CAD knowledge desirable. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software is required.
US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
