The Manager of Supply Chain and Materiel Management (SCMM) is responsible for the daily activities of the Planning functional operations at the Culpeper, VA facility.
Role includes supervision and MRP generation and problem resolution. Other functions will include but not be limited to assisting in contract closeout activities and the smooth transition of materials from contract to contract where follow on efforts exist. Budget control at the individual group and program level. Training of new employees. Motivation of new and existing employees to meet company goals and objectives in a team environment. Oversite of the monitoring of shelf life materials are also part of this position. Creation of job orders within the MRP system, and over all system problem resolution relative to Planning functions only. The Manager will also lead the MMAS efforts within SCMM. Special projects as needed and defined by the site director will also be assigned.
30% - Supervises and provides leadership to all direct material planners. Interfaces with individuals and groups such as Scheduling, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Procurement, Logistics, and Program Management.
30% - MRP Generation and problem resolution. Ensures the timely preparation of both manual and MRP generated requisitions that will support the schedules as defined by the Master Scheduler.
10% - Coordination of daily efforts and projects with other groups.
10% - Scheduling review and interfacing with Program Management.
10% - Reports and Metrics.
5% - Safety.
5% - Audits.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in a disciplines such as, but not limited to, Business Management, Engineering, Computer Science, and/or Operations Management, with nine (9) years of related experience in a manufacturing environment, or a combination of education and or experience will be considered. A Master's degree is considered a plus.
US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
The work environment may require a combination of indoor and outdoor activity (hot, cold, wet, humid conditions) with a varied amount of walking, standing, sitting, climbing (i.e. ladders, stair, scaffolding, ramps), balance (maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces), bending, reaching, handling/fingering (seizing, holding, grasping, turning picking, pinching), stooping, kneeling, crouching and ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, employees may work around variable noise levels. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. May also be required to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer. Ability to distinguish colors may also be necessary. Some employees may be required to drive between various locations within the Company facility or between locations. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
