Aerojet Rocketdyne's Advanced Defense Programs/Rocket Shop develops innovative technologies in support of propulsion and energetic products within the defense products portfolio with a vision to “Solve Tomorrow’s Toughest Problems Today.”


We are seeking a Senior Analyst, Project Management (Senior Project Manager) for our Huntsville, AL location. This position is a part of the Aerojet Rocketdyne’s Advanced Defense Programs/Rocket Shop Program Integration organization. Position will support project management and integration activities across defense advanced programs. 


The Rocket Shop Program Integration project manager’s activities include:

  • Manage projects.
  • Support integration activities related to Huntsville relocation and multi-site program execution.
  • Assume an active role in affordability and process improvement (ARBOS) initiatives.
  • Coordinate among Program Management Office (PMO), Business Development (BD) and Business Management (BM) to prepare content for Business Unit/Program Sector, program management, organizational and financial reviews.
  • Support delivery of weekly/monthly reports and presentation packages.

This current opening may be filled at this level as posted or at one level higher.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

50% - Project management.


25% - Integration coordination across the business unit and with COEs.

10% - Affordability initiative integration.

10% - ARBOS implementation and leadership.

5% - Weekly reports and other communication.


Requires a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering, Science or other appropriate technical discipline and 5 (five) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 


Desired Qualifications:

  • Proficient in project management skills with experience in using standard techniques, such as earned value, cost, schedule, resource, risk and opportunity management.
  • Ability to resolve issues and overcome obstacles.
  • Track record in executing to a plan and meeting commitments.
  • Knowledge and experience with aerospace and defense technologies for product development.
  • Familiar with affordability and continuous process improvement tools and activities. Familiar with Aerojet Rocketdyne Business Operating System (ARBOS) is a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

US Citizenship Only Required. Dual Citizenship does not meet job qualifications. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (US Citizenship required). Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information.



Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
