Overview

Aerojet Rocketdyne Coleman Aerospace is looking for a Process Engineer for it's Orlando, FL office. This is an individual contributor position. The purpose of this role is to establish a thorough and complete manufacturing plan to achieve the most efficient and high quality products for our customers. Create, find and evaluate more efficient ways to manufacture products through technique, process, and procedure with a strong focus on continuous improvement. The successful candidate requires a broad knowledge of equipment and tools. The work of a Manufacturing Process Engineer is hands-on, interacting and collaborating with Manufacturing, Quality and Engineering.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

  • Generate process plans for new builds and rework of flight hardware and support equipment.
  • Work closely with the Quality Engineer and Production Control to evaluate issues and respond accurately and concisely to the program.
  • Support product/process change activities through Change Management system.
  • Manage daily process quality performance to include the investigation of issues, the disposition of items with defects, and the initiation of corrective and preventative actions.
  • Assist Engineering in concept reviews for manufacturability
  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Company Policies and maintain engineering, equipment and process procedure
  • Review Engineering drawings

  • Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

Required skills and attributes:

 

  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering Discipline (preferably Mechancal or Aerospace Engineering) and a minimum of 9 years of related experience.
  • Strong computer knowledge MS Office
  • Strong oral and written communication skills (may be involved with internal and external meetings, compose inter-company communication, presentations, forms, and emails)

Desired skills and attributes:

 

  • Familiar with 5S
  • Familiar with J-STD-001 and IPC-620 certifications
  • Engineers in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) License in good standing is preferred.
  • Experience with Department of Defense contracts.
