Overview

Aerojet Rocketdyne Coleman Aerospace is looking for a Quality/Mission Assurance Engineer for it's Orlando, FL location.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

Reviewing and approving engineering and design disclosure documentation, and participation/contribution in design reviews.

 

Assessing contract requirements, compliance to Industry and Government standards (e.g., AS9100, MDA MAP, MDA PMAP), laws, and regulations. Must be able to translate the information to policies and procedures governing execution.

 

Working with Systems Engineering disciplines and related activities (e.g., requirements traceability & verification).

 

Reviewing policies, procedures, process inspection requirements and procurement documents to ensure conformance to requirements.

 

Executing Quality and Mission Assurance plans or quality programs/plans and evaluating the effectiveness of said plans through review, analysis and audit.

 

Implementing Parts, Materials, and Process controls in an Aerospace environment, and familiarity with Components Engineering tasks.

 

Working with Quality assurance disciplines, tools, and techniques.

 

In non-conformance disposition including root cause investigation, corrective/preventative action implementation, and follow up assessment of effectiveness.

 

 

Working independently and as part of a team to effectively execute tasks in a timely manner.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field and at least five years of experience providing a broad-based knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines such as mechanical, electronics, software, test, and avionics is required.

 

US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the SECRET level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to travel approximately four to five times a year for periods of up to five business days.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to interface directly with senior personnel, customers, and suppliers.
  • Must be comfortable working in an environment with strong governmental oversight.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience or professional certification in Systems Engineering (INCOSE), Quality Assurance, and/or Quality Auditing.
  • Training or certification in Lean and Six Sigma.
  • Experience with interpretation and use ASME Y14.5.

 

 

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
