Overview

Aerojet Rocketdyne is a world-recognized aerospace and defense leader providing propulsion and energetics to its space, missile defense, strategic, tactical missile and armaments customers throughout domestic and international markets. This position provides direct, time-sensitive support to the HR/Staffing team in our Huntsville, Alabama location. 

 

Note: Relocation assistance is not available for this position. This position may be filled at this level or one level higher.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

60% - Directly supports recruiting team members at the Huntsville, Alabama location and enterprise wide. Support is time-sensitive in nature. Prepares employment offer packages using established offer templates and specific information provided by recruiters. Coordinates, documents and ensures completion of post-offer background investigations, reference checks and medical screening. Ensures consistent, timely, effective and reliable customer service when regularly faced with heavy workload and/or tight deadlines.  Communicate face to face and through phone and email with various internal and external customers, providing appropriately detailed communication and addressing issues as they arise.

 

15% - Prepares a variety of detailed reports, both regularly scheduled and ad hoc, pertaining to the Staffing function, ensuring the accuracy of information, as well as the quality and timeliness of the delivered reports. 

 

10% - Provides other support as needed, including updating applicant tracking system, scheduling interviews, making travel arrangements, coordinating events such as job fairs and interview days, assisting with placement of recruitment advertising, updating and managing numerous forms and information packages, and processing invoices.

 

10% - Coordinates, greets and leads the new employee orientation program for the Huntsville location, updating orientation materials as needed. Completes and processes documentation needed for start date of new hires. 

 

5% - Contributes to ongoing process improvement activities, focusing on quality and efficiency.

Requirements

Graduation from High school or equivalent and five (5) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of this position is required.

 

US Citizenship Only Required. Dual Citizenship does not meet job qualifications.

 

Additional Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must have the ability to coordinate multiple priorities that are time sensitive in nature.
  • Requires excellent communication skills, in person and phone, verbal and written, to address questions and issues that arise.
  • Excellent software skills (MS Word and Excel), organizational skills, as well as the ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Experience in supporting a team. Experience working in a recruiting or human resources team preferred.
  • Experience maintaining and updating applicant tracking systems preferred, but not required.
  • Experience in positions that have required significant attention to detail, follow through, flexibility, and the ability to effectively handle a variety of complex responsibilities in a multi-tasking, deadline-driven environment.

 

 

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
