Aerojet Rocketdyne, a major aerospace corporation responsible for the design, manufacture and operation of a number of critical US space and defense products, seeks a Senior Specialist - Supply Chain & Materiel Management (SCMM) within the Enterprise Logistics Organization. The work location for this position is flexible and may be located at Sacramento, CA, Canoga Park, CA, Redmond, WA, Huntsville, AL or West Palm Beach, FL.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

Serving as the expert within the organization, this position works under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives. This position will exercise dotted-line authority over site Logistics Managers to accomplish its goals, which include:


30% - Maestro (Oracle) System: Accomplish enterprise-wide stabilization and utilization of the Maestro system within the SCMM function, including leading the testing and implementation of system upgrades. Acts as Business Request focal for Logistics. Conduct system investigations and drive corrective actions. Establish standardized training packages for all Logistics functions.


25% - Compliance: Act as MMAS Focal for Logistics. Conduct quarterly Maestro access reviews. Act as focal for all audit activity, findings, tracking and reporting.  Ensure audit readiness enterprise wide for audits including, but not limited to, MMAS, AS9100, DCMA, Internal and Customer/Program audits.


25% - Metrics and Reporting: Develop and implement a standard metrics deck utilizing Maestro, eliminating manual metrics. Standardize 1018 DCMA Inventory Reporting, as well as EOQ/EOY inventory reporting.


20% - ARBOS Process Standardization & Improvement Initiatives: Determine strategic initiatives to drive affordability enterprise wide. Develop and implement standard work across all major disciplines within Logistics with a focus on effected and cost efficient means for production planning and inventory control. Manage command media.


Requires a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and at least fifteen (15) years of progressive/related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).

Additional Requirements:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to plan, organize, coordinate, direct and control the activities of the assigned organization. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Proficiency with computer systems, particularly Maestro and Oracle ERP as well as Microsoft related software including Microsoft Project and data manipulation skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

Demonstrated knowledge of:

  • Maestro (Oracle) system.
  • ARBOS system and tools.
  • Extensive knowledge of government accounting principles and practices.
  • Government Material Management & Accounting Systems (DFAR 242-7004).
  • An overall understanding of business processes, strategic goals and improvement opportunities.
  • Sarbanes-Oxley Accounting Rules.
  • Corrective Action Request Process.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification(s) in Production and Inventory Management, Supply Chain, Project Management, Operations Management and similar subject matter areas are preferred.



Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

Candidate must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. Ability to frequently travel by air or auto, as required. Ability to use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. This position may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
