    Aerojet Rocketdyne (AR) offers a complete line of propulsion products for launch vehicles, missile defense, tactical missile, and advanced hypersonic propulsion.


    This individual will be a Program Manager in the Defense Advanced Programs business sector and will be responsible for managing AR's advanced tactical and strategic missile propulsion programs.


    This current opening may be filled at this level as posted or at one level higher.

    Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

    Works under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives.


    60% - Provides strategic direction for program captures, systems, projects and programs in area of expertise. Includes defining and controlling program scope, overall schedules and budgets with a strong knowledge of earned value management. Prepares and executes master schedules including milestones, writes program plans with special emphasis on critical path. Interacts with other personnel to ensure successful execution of program requirements. Serves as primary point of contact with customers regarding program status, performance, technical questions, etc.


    30% - Supports the financial aspects of assigned programs, including all EVMS requirements, program budgeting, and forecasting. Participates in forecast of awards/margins and sales/profit for assigned programs.


    10% - Other duties as assigned.


    Requires a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and at least ten (10) years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


    US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.


    Additional Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated abilities in team building, leadership and delegation skills to achieve project goals a must.
    • Experience in leading, encouraging and reviewing work of supporting team members to maximize program success needed.
    • Demonstrated ability to define and negotiate task objectives, scope description and completion criteria for operational activities.
    • Ability to coordinate various activities simultaneously and to make real time plan adjustments.
    • Must be proficient in typical office computer programs for the conduct of program management such as MS PowerPoint, MS Project, MS Excel and MS Word.
    • Previous experience on similar programs a plus.
    • Positional Certification may be required.


    Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

    Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
