Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking a Business Analyst to join our Jonesborough, TN location.
The position of Business Analyst will be responsible for preparing and maintaining budgets, establishing earning plans, and evaluating performance of various projects to support the business management operations of company programs. The Business Analyst will review the fiscal and schedule aspects of projects, prepare cost benefit analysis, cash flow projections and other financial projections, prepare forward pricing rate impacts as they occur, review cost estimates and variation of project returns, ensure adequate funding is available by maintaining accurate records and submitting timely requests for additional funding to the customer, incorporate contractual changes into control systems, respond to various audit activities from internal and external sources, generate and compile financial documents, prepare and make recommendations to management based on financial planning data and assist auditors regarding the organizational unit’s accounting, estimating and control procedures. The Business Analyst position will report directly to the Sr. Manager of Programs for Aerojet Ordnance Tennessee.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline and three (3) years of directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in manufacturing or industrial environment desired. Extensive experience with Earned Value Reporting Systems is strongly desired. Position requires the ability to work effectively in a team environment and communication concisely and effectively with all levels of personnel, both internal and external.
US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of pertinent rules and regulations related to area of assignment, Generally Accepted Accounting and Auditing Principles, performance measurement systems, cost accounting, general ledger, and command media, manufacturing and engineering operations, business management systems such as Management by Commitment and Internal Operating Controls, governmental accounting methods, procedures, and budgeting requirements, uniform accounting system and financial organization procedures, computer systems and applicable software (including Microsoft Office), Earned Value Management, Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), budget development and control, forward pricing, performance management systems, principles of public finance and business law, proposal writing, contracting requirements, estimating systems, and performance measurement systems.
Candidate will possess the ability to evaluate, prioritize, and categorize data in various forms and formats, effectively coordinate schedules and work flow, apply general accounting and auditing principles and procedures, perform mathematical calculations, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including preparing comprehensive, clear and concise accounting and auditing reports and financial statements, analyze data and draw sound conclusions, utilize metrics associated with management best practices, apply financial practices and processes to develop and justify budget and forecast, prepare and monitor organizational financial requirements, utilize Earned Value Management techniques to monitor program performance, make sound decisions and recommendations in regard to budget, accounting, and business management activities, work collaboratively with team members from internal and external organizations in the achievement of common goals, use a variety of computer systems to prepare reports and documents.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
The work environment may require a combination of indoor and outdoor activity (hot, cold, wet, humid conditions) with a varied amount of walking, standing, sitting, climbing (i.e. ladders, stair, scaffolding, ramps), balance (maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces), bending, reaching, handling/fingering (seizing, holding, grasping, turning picking, pinching), stooping, kneeling, crouching and ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds. Work may require the ability to operate material handling equipment (forklift, crane, hoist, man lift, etc.) in a safe manner. While performing the duties of this job, employees may work around variable noise levels or with fume or airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, etc. requiring the use of personal protective equipment such as face protection (safety glasses, goggles, face shield), foot protection (i.e. steel toed shoes, rubber boots, etc.), gloves, hard hat, shop coat and hearing protection. Some positions may require Respirator clearance up to and including the Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) Level A clearance. Work requires the ability to change into or out of personal protective equipment when entering or exiting manufacturing, laboratory, or other areas. Some employees may be required to drive between various locations within the Company facility or between locations. Work duties may also be required to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer and/or the ability to travel by air or auto. Ability to distinguish colors may also be necessary. This position may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
