The Supplier Quality Assurance Organization is seeking a Quality Engineering Specialist to serve as the site integrator for the Canoga Park, CA site (Los Angeles area). This individual will be responsible for integrating the Canoga Park based programs into the enterprise Supplier Quality strategy, while ensuring all specific program demands and needs are met. Additionally, this individual will be expected to provide guidance to personnel operating at our suppliers, serve as the liasion between the various program functions and the Supplier Quality Assurance group and coordinate with Quality Engineers and Inspectors in the field to meet the programs needs.
This person may also be responsible for ensuring key suppliers met expectations and participate in audits or product evaluation to determine the effectiveness of the quality assurance program.
Under minimal direction:
50% - Drive integration and standardization of the enterprise Supplier Quality Assurance strategy into the programs at the Canoga Park site. Be the on-site point of contact for all program activities relating to supplier quality and ensure program demands are met by using the Quality Engineering and Inspection workforce in the field. Attend program corrective action boards, integrated product team meetings and other necessary program reviews.
20% - Visit suppliers to review product and process issues. Interface with internal and external customers including NASA and DCAA; i.e., engineering, manufacturing, supplier, procurement to ensure requirements are met. Analyze hardware documentation to verify compliance with purchase orders, engineering drawings, processes, specifications, etc.
20% - Utilize the 8D and other methods to investigate discrepancies of hardware and documentation and drive the suppliers to effective resolution. Maintain ownership over the supplier's quality rating and drive actions to reduce total Cost of Poor Quality in the supply base.
5% - Define and balance resources needed to support the programs demands.
5% - Create and deliver program status, investigation and other presentations to program and functional management.
Requires a Bachelor's degree and nine (9) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience,
US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
