Aerojet Rocketdyne seeks a Configuration Management Professional to join our engineering Configuration and Data Management team in our West Palm Beach, FL location.


This position may be filled at the level posted or at the next higher level.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

Working under general supervision and following established procedures, the selected candidate will perform assignments requiring application of Industry Configuration Management practices and principles supporting development and production environments for multiple programs.


30% - Perform verification of Release, Class I and Class II engineering changes for accuracy of bill-of-material and model/CAD and document collections.


30% - Ensure template attributions are correctly identified for creation of manufacturing bill-of-material and Manufacturing Orders by Operations, processing data into Maestro (Oracle) and ensuring accurate procurement and quality data feeds.


15% - Perform configuration management duties verifying various data collections from Design and Product Definition groups. 


15% - Participate in Configuration Control Boards, processing of deviations, and supporting the organization with configuration management practices and principles.


10% - Perform CM-III administrative activity against attributes requiring additional actions with the Design and Manufacturing data.  


Requires a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and a minimum of two (2) or more years of directly related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience).


US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.


Additional Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to and knowledge of the PLM systems and processes are required.

  • Working knowledge of Configuration Management practices and principles and knowledge of ISO10007 and EIA649.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) is also needed.
  • Knowledge of PTC Windchill or Siemens Teamcenter desired.
  • Knowledge of design and development of mechanical systems and knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 is desired.



Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. Must require the ability to travel by air or auto.
