    Aerojet Rocketdyne Coleman Aerospace designs, builds and tests ballistic missile targets and launch vehicle solutions. We are currently seeking experienced Electromechanical Design Engineers for work at our Orlando, FL facility.


    This current opening may be filled at this level as posted or at one level higher.

    Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

    85% - A Coleman Aerospace Electromechanical Design Engineer is responsible for the design, documentation and production floor support of hardware (missile electronics, missile electrical cabling, airborne support equipment, ground support equipment and test sets.


    15% - Additional duties include investigation of discrepant hardware and test anomalies.



    • Must have a Bachelor of Science in a related Engineering discipline.
    • Must have at least 2 years of related experience.

    Must also have the following:

    • Design experience with electrical cables, test sets, breakout boxes, 19” support equipment rack design
    • Proficiency with Creo Parametric 2.0 Cabling and Intralink.
    • Proficiency with ASME Y14.5M-1994 and generating detailed engineering drawings.
    • Proficiency with reading schematics for electrical cable assemblies in order to define and select connectors, backshells, splices, wiring, etc.
    • Basic computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word and Excel)
    • Compliance to quality and safety policies at all times!
    • Willingness to travel 10% of the time.

    US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.


    Physical Requirements – This work requires delicate handling, reaching, light lifting and may require a combination of sitting and standing, as well as walking between test locations and occasional use of small step-ladders.  


    Desired Qualifications:

    • Experience with design of flexible and semi-rigid RF cables.
    • Familiarity with Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and Circuit Card Assembly design.
