  • Overview

    Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking a Quality Supervisor to join our team in our Redmond, WA facility. This position will review inspection and production schedules and manpower resources and ensure that employees are assigned appropriately to maximize objectives, maintain quality and attain output requirements including conformance to product specifications and workmanship standards. Oversee inspection activities, making sure they are effective in enabling the Company to produce products which consistently meet specifications and requirements.

    Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

    40% - Managing direct labor charging to ensure regulatory compliance; managing work assignments to maximize the utilization of resources; meeting delivery requirements and achieving efficiency targets maintaining employee training, certifications and critical skills; analyzing cost & quality drivers to identify cause(s) and implement corrective actions.

     

    30% - Directing daily work assignments within Product Acceptance to meet quality, cost and schedule commitments. Leading cross-functional team members to interpret Quality & test processing requirements. Coordinating technical support to ensure hardware velocity.

     

    10% - Leading, performing, or reviewing root cause analysis and investigations while striving for mistake-proof corrective and preventive actions.

     

    10% - Identifying, reporting and eliminating unsafe acts & unsafe conditions within the Quality processes.

     

    10% - Managing training and certification for employees.

    Requirements

    Requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).

     

    Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship). Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information. Having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

     

    Additional Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:

    • Must be capable of leading a diverse team and collaborating in a cross-functional organization.
    • Must have a demonstrated ability to organize and complete projects, reach objectives, and meet deadlines.
    • Solid root cause analysis and corrective action skills.
    • Aerospace Quality Manufacturing background in an AS9100 environment
    • Able to read and interpret blue-prints, technical drawings, assembly work instructions, customer specifications, procedures, and other technical documents.
    • Have the ability to motivate, inspire, coach, and mentor individuals and small groups.

     

    Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

    Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
