We are currently seeking a Director, Supply Chain Materiel Management for our location in Redmond, WA.

 

The Director of Supply Chain Materiel Management will be responsible for the successful operation of activities which have major significance to the organization. This person is responsible for the integration of all supply chain, material planning, logistics, and production and master scheduling functions, including interactions with internal and external customers and suppliers.   He/she must be a proactive leader with the ability to make responsive decisions that balance the strategic and tactical needs of the organization.  This position will report directly to the Vice President of Supply Chain/Materiel Management.

 

 

 

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

30% - Provides leadership, strategic direction and determination of organizational objectives for all supply chain activities relating to the procurement of materials and services, the development and management of production schedules, and the execution of production planning. Integrates site logistics into production plans.

20% - Provides leadership, strategic direction and guidance to the entire site staff in support of overall business objectives and improvements as a member of the Senior Leadership Team for the site.

10% - Drives improved delivery performance from supply base utilizing systems tools in oracle, IMS, and reduction in supplier lead times.

10% - Drives affordability in material pricing utilizing category management, bundling, supplier consolidation and lean practices.  Drives improved supplier quality performance through utilization of Continuous Improvement tools.

10% - Reviews overall budgets, schedules and performance standards, and reviews and approves major expenditures.

10% - Conducts briefings and project review meetings for top management and customer representatives.

10% - Fosters ethical conduct, practices and personal integrity throughout Aerojet Rocketdyne. Manages the self-audit activities of assigned functions. Establishes organizational policies and interprets, executes and recommends modifications to Aerojet Rocketdyne policies.

 

 

Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's degree and 14 years of directly related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced degree desirable. Exceptional leadership capabilities will be a key to success. Requires experience in ERP systems and Operational Excellence processes and tools. Should be familiar with MRP systems integration and processes and MMAS (Material Management and Accounting System) compliance and procedures. Knowledge of aerospace industry products a must. Must have experience in government procurement subcontracting processes and procedures (FAR). Requires strong analytical tools and experience and training/experience in operational excellence processes and tools. Sarbanes-Oxley familiarity is desired. Should have a working knowledge of EVMS systems.

 

US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.


 

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
