Overview

Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our facility in Camden, Arkansas. This role typically accomplishes results through experienced exempt employees. This position functions as advisor on all projects and tasks assigned to the organizational group.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

35% - Provides manufacturing engineering process direction and leadership to manufacturing engineers supporting production and new product components.

 

35% - Provides coaching and mentoring for career development and advancement of team members.

 

15% - Works closely with program management, process areas and product work centers to provide timely and qualified technical support to customer needs and requirements.

 

10% - Develops, communicates and executes assigned strategies and metrics.

 

5% - Develops and manages team overhead budget.

Requirements

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related science discipline and at least 7 years of related technical experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to plan, organize, coordinate, direct and control the activities of the assigned organization.

 

US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

 

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment may require a combination of indoor and outdoor activity (hot, cold, wet, humid conditions) with a varied amount of walking, standing, sitting, climbing (i.e. ladders, stair, scaffolding, ramps), balance (maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces), bending, reaching, handling/fingering (seizing, holding, grasping, turning picking, pinching), stooping, kneeling, crouching and ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, employees may work around variable noise levels. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. May also be required to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer. Ability to distinguish colors may also be necessary. Some employees may be required to drive between various locations within the Company facility or between locations. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.

 

Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
