Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking a Senior Fixed Asset Accountant to join our facility in Canoga Park, CA. You will be part of the team responsible for providing rapid and high-quality financial information. This position will perform the day to day activities associated with fixed assets. Duties include: recording, reconciling and auditing all assets, depreciation, dispositions and construction in progress accounts. Experience in Fixed Assets and Projects are required.
This position may be filled at the current level or at one level higher.
65% - Applies GAAP principles to accounting processes. Conducts accounting research. Reconciles fixed asset accounts in a timely, effective manner. Prepares fixed asset related journal entries by assigned due dates. Works with other departments to ensure timely communication of documents related to the acquisition and disposition of fixed assets. Maintains the fixed asset ledger by updating it with any additions and disposals of assets.
20 % - Prepares and distributes other reports and/or analysis as needed. Assists with preparation, analysis, and verification of various schedules for reporting. Prepares data for internal and external auditors.
15% - Held accountable, to a high degree, for the accuracy, confidentiality and thoroughness of departmental records and reports. Assists other members of the Finance and Accounting group as needed. Assists in standardizing processes and identification of process improvements. Other duties as assigned.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 6 (six) years' experience in general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, financial analysis and reporting, fixed assets (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
US Citizenship required. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
