    Under limited general direction, independently determines approach to objectives demonstrating a complete understanding and application of principles, concepts and practices.


    This current opening may be filled at this level as posted or at one level higher.


    Candidates must be willing and available to work other shifts or overtime as needed to meet production schedules.


    Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

    40% - Provides accurate manufacturing schedules by utilizing internal ERP system (Oracle) to maintain program schedules.


    20% - Tracks product flow through assembly and shop areas and final shipments to customer. If schedule is impacted, be prepared to understand what is needed for the team to get back on track.


    20% - Identifies and communicates concerns and issues with potential scheduling impacts. Ability to make recommendations to your team on how schedules can be minimally impacted. Relays information to team members and management.


    10% - Monitors various activities to ensure conformance to established schedule.


    10% - Performs other related assignments as needed:

    • Providing solutions to problems involving unusual complexity. Conceives and plans projects involving the development of new approaches and methods to attain objectives.
    • May provide input to department objectives and long-range goals. Keeps current within area of specialty in support of project assignments.
    • Directly assists program director/manager in meeting established schedules and in resolving complex technical or operational issues.
    • Develops program plans and schedules in support of proposal preparation.
    • May act as a representative for program manager in inter-departmental work groups or meetings.
    • May contribute simultaneously to several programs.
    • May provide another Aerojet Rocketdyne interface for the customer.
    • May make assignments and provide direction to less senior employees and support personnel.


    Requires a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and six years' directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to analyze and project future trends. Relevant Oracle experience preferred and have proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel. Good problem solving ability and strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.


    U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires the employee to have access to premises which are subject to national security requirements of the United States under government contracts that impose US Citizenship requirements for such positions.



    Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

    Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
