Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking an Inspector 1 to join our team in Camden, Arkansas.
This is an entry-level position that performs detailed inspections on rocket motor components and assemblies under close supervision. Responsible for strict adherence to safety and wearing of required PPE, possibly including respirator certification and good housekeeping standards. Receives on-the-job training in inspection techniques, safety and Quality System Requirements (AS9100). This position requires employees to enter the manufacturing areas. The hours of work will equate to those of the manufacturing areas, and overtime and/or off-shift work will be required when quality support is needed as directed by the Quality Lead/Supervisor. Strong computer skills are necessary and required for data entry and constant use of the Maestro (Oracle) system.

Under close supervision involving detailed instructions:
60% - Use calipers, micrometers and other measuring equipment performs inspections on rocket motor and rocket motor components under the supervision of higher level inspectors.
20% - Initiate electronic Inspection Report (IR) cards, Discrepancy Reports (NC or ER's), etc. used for product traceability (computer use required).
20% - Enter shipping data, nonconformance reporting, and Oracle entries into the computer on all programs.
High School diploma, or equivalent preferred, and less than 1 year of experience. Arkansas Career Readiness Certificate-Silver Level required for this position. Experience preferred to sufficiently perform the essential duties of this position.
Specialized equipment use is required to perform specified tasks. Regular and predictable attendance is expected. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and show common courtesy with the team. Strong computer skills are necessary and required as a big portion of the job requires a great deal of computer usage. Passing a visual certification is required by inspection personnel.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
Ability to climb ladder, stand and sit for periods of time, ability to manipulate gages, qualify for the respirator program, if needed, have dependable transportation to travel to and from various work areas, work overtime and/or off-shift and lift/carry a maximum of 35 pounds.
