    Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking an Associate Industrial Engineer/Training Coordinator to join our team at Stennis Space Center (SSC) in Mississippi. In this role, you will manage and document materials, data and information for all safety, health and environment training aspects and will support the site technical trainig coordination activities. Work is reviewed for sound technical judgment and overall adequacy. In this role you'll have an opportunity to build a strong understanding of safety, health & environment (SH&E) training aspects and technical training administration as they relate to rocket engine testing, support and engine processing, assembly & disassembly operations, including critical lift and ordnance operations.

    Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

    Working under supervision:


    20% - Daily interface with management, employees, & customers in safety, health, and environment (SH&E) and technical training matters. Activities are performed in accordance with organization & program standards & procedures.


    20% - Coordinate and schedule (reschedule) all internal and external SH&E-related instructor-led and proficiency/hands-on training/demonstrations with designated training entities and Finance Office.


    20% - Develop/maintain process for validation of hazardous operations and process skill certifications/qualification prior to task assignment/performance and ensure accurate and timely reporting to respective management.


    20% - Ensure timely and accurate data entry of scheduled SH&E training completions and qualifications in company hazardous operations/process skill training/certification data system(s). Support technical training coordination t ensure 100% compliance and completion of site scheduled training. Maintain/update Site Calendar to support daily work schedules. Produce and distribute certification/qualification reports to respective management.


    10% - Develop, schedule and validate periodic review of all site SH&E-related computer-based and instructor-led training modules with Subject Matter Expert(s) and making necessary updates/changes in the training data system.


    10% – Coordinate with SH&E staff to identify medical surveillance needs and submit to appropriate entity for funding and reconciliation. Ensure notification of employees/managers of medical surveillance appointments as scheduled. Work with Enterprise Health Services to ensure accurate medical surveillance data entry and exchange. Provide periodic reports of medical surveillance needs to SH&E and Finance to secure services.


    Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline with up to 2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


    US Citizenship required. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement. Additionally, individual must be able to obtain and maintain NASA Personnel Reliability Program (PRP) security clearance.

    • Must be willing and able to travel up to 10%.
    • Computer skills, MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.

    • Ability to analyze & develop plans and schedules.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Understanding of ISO 14001 standards.
    • An understanding of safety and health management system and OSHA General Industry Safety and Health and Construction standards.


    Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

    The work environment requires the mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto and may require driving between various locations within the Company facility or between locations. Ability to distinguish colors may also be necessary. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protections and shop coat. This position may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization
