  • Overview

    Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking an experienced Inspector to join our growing facility in Camden, Arkansas.


    In this role, you will perform detailed inspections on rocket motor components and assemblies under direct supervision. Responsible for strict adherence to safety and housekeeping standards. Performs inspections that are not completely formalized and requires minimum judgment, with a good understanding of the related ISO 9001 elements. This position requires employees to enter the manufacturing areas. The hours of work will equate to those of the manufacturing areas, and overtime will be required as directed by the department manager. Responsible for strict adherence to safety and housekeeping standards.

    Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

    60% - Using calipers, micrometers and other measuring equipment, and performing inspections on rocket motors and rocket motor components under the supervision of higher level inspectors.


    10% - Paperwork such as writing IR cards, Discrepancy reports etc.


    30% - Entering shipping data, Discrepancy reports and Oracle entries in the computer on all programs.


    Arkansas Career Readiness Certificate-Silver Level required for this position. High School graduate or equivalent with at least 1 year of related experience associated with the inspection of chemical processing, soldering, casting, inert operations (no propellant), bonding, assembly, and/or component parts.


    US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.


    Additional Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:

    • Trade or Vocational School courses in drawing interpretation and basic math are desirable.
    • Ability to understand related ISO9001 elements and make judgments expected.


    Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

    Specialized equipment use is required to perform specified tasks. Must be able to climb ladder, manipulate gauges, qualify for the respirator program, drive motorized vehicles, carry a minimum of 35 pounds and may occasionally be required to lift and/or move materials up to 50 pounds and pass a visual acuity test.
