  • Overview

    Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join our facility in Camden, Arkansas.

     

    Working under limited general direction, the Senior Quality Engineer conducts review and approval of design drawings, design specifications and instruction/procedures for Manufacturing, Test and Inspection activities to assure compliance with Quality System requirements. Prepares reports and analyses, performs special tasks as assigned in support of Quality Program Objectives, and makes presentations to Department and Program Management and Customers as required. Supports the development of electronic planning and data collection systems for the manufacturing environment. 

    Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

    20% - Develop and document all Visual Planning/Electronic Planning Inspection Instructions for hardware and materials associated with assigned Programs.

    20% - Setup data collections within Maestro (Oracle) and Delmia/Electronic Planning.

    15% - Create Visual Workmanship Standards for inspection.

    10% - Support all interactions with Customer and Government Representatives.

    10% - Support Continuous Improvement activities for assigned Program(s).

    10% - Visit suppliers to review product & process issues.

    10% - Train on the use of barcoding.

    5% - Oversee all quality related issues for assigned Program(s) and serve as Material Review Board (MRB) & Corrective Action Board Chairperson.

    Requirements

    Requires a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and five (5) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    Additional Requirements:

    • US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

    • Ability to work effectively under general direction and make proper technical judgments, often under stressful conditions.
    • Knowledge of Quality Assurance Systems requirements a must.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Technical experience in Quality Control/Assurance, Product Reliability, Laboratory Test Procedures, Production and/or Process Engineering.
    • Proficient computer skills with Oracle 12 Database a plus.
    • Background in electronic planning and data collection systems.

     

    Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

    Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
