We are seeking a Deputy Program Manager in Hypersonics to join our facility in West Palm Beach, Florida.
This position that supports the Senior Program Manager (PM) on a current Hypersonics flight demonstration program. This position will act as deputy on behalf of the Senior PM when workload and customer commitments of the flight demonstration program dictate, while at the same time leading several less complex programs as the PM. Work is performed with minimal direction. Specific duties may include:
65% - Support the financial and technical aspects of assigned program, including all EVMS requirements, risk reduction planning and execution, program budgeting and forecasting, program IMS execution, internal and external reviews, and resource planning. This position will work with CAMs to ensure data is accurate and cdrls are submitted to the PM and customer on time and accurate.
25% - Provides comprehensive leadership and strategic direction for smaller development programs. This portion of the position includes defining an controlling program scope, overall schedules and budgets. Prepares and executes master schedules including milestones, and writes program plans. Interacts with other personnel to ensure successful execution of program requirements. Serves as primary point of contact with customers regarding program status, performance, technical questions, etc.
10% - Other duties as assigned.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and at least 14 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. An advanced degree (Master's/PhD) in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering is desirable. Team leadership of design, analysis, system integration, and program management of Ramjet / Scramjet and Gas Turbine propulsion systems is also preferred.
Demonstrated abilities in team building, leadership and delegation skills to achieve project goals. Experience in leading, encouraging and reviewing work of supporting team members to maximize program success. Demonstrated ability to define and negotiate task objectives, scope description and completion criteria for operational activities. Ability to coordinate various activities simultaneously and to make real time plan adjustments. Must be proficient in typical office computer programs for the conduct of program management such as MS PowerPoint, MS Project, MS Excel and MS Word. Previous experience on similar programs a plus.
US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. Position will require travel by air or auto. It will require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. This position may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities. This position will require the ability to Travel by Air Carrier and/or by Ground Vehicle.
