Aerojet Rocketdyne seeks a Manager of Supplier Quality for its Camden, Arkansas or Huntsville, Alabama location. Supplier Quality Assurance is a vital function contributing to the overall Product Value Proposition for the Aerojet Rocketdyne Enterprise. This function works seamlessly with Supply Chain and Material Management and the Programs to achieve the delivery of quality products on time and at cost. The manager of Supplier Quality will lead the Supplier Quality Assurance organization for the Eastern US region and support the defense related programs.

Responsibilities include the leadership of the Supplier Quality Engineers at Camden, Arkansas, Orange, Virginia and West Palm Beach, Florida sites and the regionally based Supplier Quality Engineers who support product shipping to those facilities. The Manager of Supplier Quality will also assist with the development and implementation of enterprise-wide Supplier Quality Assurance best practices, tools and methodology. The position will require an enterprise view and a leader who can influence and lead positive change throughout the business including partnerships with Aerojet Rocketdyne sites, Programs, Supply Chain Management, Engineering and other stakeholders.
50% - Support Supplier Quality Engineers on programs as required to establish schedules and resolve complex technical or operational problems. Work with Supply Chain and Engineering to identify, select and develop suppliers. Communicate product and quality requirements to the Supplier Quality Engineers in the field. Work with suppliers in problem resolutions including initiation and closure of root cause and corrective actions. Ensure risks are properly documented, managed and mitigated.
25% - Manage the day-to-day activities of the Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) group. This may include determining organizational objectives and delegating assignments to direct reports. Interface with Program Management and Supply Chain to establish priorities and assign personnel to meet those requirements. Manage budgets, logistics, and coordinate the continuing education/development of SQA personnel. Responsible for budget/salary planning and strategic/key objectives planning for salary staff.
25% - Support management by participating in site, program and proposal activities/Work with Supply Chain to develop and lead initiatives to improve supply chain performance. Facilitate continuous improvement activities use tools defined by the business operating system. Develop supplier improvement methodologies and implementation plans.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience in a directly related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship). Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information. Having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Experience leading a Supplier Quality team in a multi-site manufacturing environment with a track record of delivering quality performance improvements in the supply chain.
