    Aerojet Rocketdyne Coleman Aerospace is looking for a Sr. Manager of Subcontracts and Procurement for its Orlando, FL location. 

    This position will lead the Subcontracts and Procurement functions and will be responsible for providing leadership and management of department resources to ensure the achievement of the division’s business plans and objectives.  A principal responsibility is to ensure the company’s best interests are protected through quality supplier management. The selected candidate will be responsible for the procurement function’s compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and with company policies, Additonally, the Sr. Manager of Subcontracts and Procurement will identify market/scope changes and develop product/program positions for costs/price and feature changes or equitable cost/schedule adjustments as well as develop supplier relationships and new business opportunities with suppliers.

    Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

    60% - Manages and leads the Subcontracts and Procurement departments and their respective employees. Manage staffing, performance, development and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities meet or exceed business requirements.

    10% - Supervise the solicitation and receipt of cost or pricing data required for disclosure to the customer in accordance with applicable federal regulations, including Truthful Cost or Pricing Data Act

    10% - Manage Supplier on-time delivery of supplies and services that meet contractual requirements

    5% - Embrace continuous improvement activities across the entire supply chain including development and implementation of appropriate performance measures

    5%  -Provide oversight of material/subcontract cost and pricing activities for to bids and proposals and oversee price or cost analysis for materials, components, equipment and services

    5% - Supervise evaluation and source selection activities

    5% - Interfaces with customers on major supplier/subcontractor performance/status


    • A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and 14 years of progressive experience,  or an equivalent combination of education  and experience
    • Thorough understanding of applicable acquisition regulations (FAR/DFARS)
    • Articulate and capable of handling serious and complex negotiation discussions under high pressure, dealing with all levels of internal and external organizations.
    • Knowledge of DFARS Contractor Purchasing System Administration (DFARS 252.244-7001) requirements.
    • Ability to understand and analyze subcontractors program financial data

    • Abilty to administer moderate to moderately high risk suppliers and engagements

    • Demonstrated knowledge of products and technologies including current and potential applications

    • Ability to track work accomplished to baseline plans and identify issues, track progress, and follow through on effective corrective actions based on data analysis and trends

    • Must possess significant knowledge of target customer markets

    • Must have the ability to generate cohesive subcontractor program plans

    • On major subcontract efforts, must have the ability to drive the development and implementation of a product-oriented WBS and WBS Dictionary

    • Must be able to establish and assure adherence to subcontractors budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements
    • Must have the ability to apply advanced negotiation skills to solve internal, external and customer issues

    • Experience in successfully leading a procurement organization through one or more CPSRs. 
    • Experience with Deltek Costpoint is desired.
    • Experience with EVMS is desired. 
    • Six Sigma/black belt experience/training is desired.

    • Ability to reasonably understand and communicate technical issues related to supplier performance
    • Ability to influence others throughout the organization as it relates to improving procurement agreements, costs, performance, quality, and bottom line results
    • Excellent oral and written communications skills
    • Working Knowledge of MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint

    • May be required to travel
