We are currently seeking a Materials and Processes (M&P) Engineer to join our propulsion engineering team who has the knowledge, drive, enthusiasm, leadership and initiative to enhance our materials and process capability. This position is located at our facility in West Palm Beach, FL.
The engineer will join a team of M&P engineers responsible for all M&P aspects of our liquid engine and hypersonic propulsion product lines. This includes selection and development of metals and metals processing, joining and finishing processes, materials requirements management, production floor support, and failure investigations as required.
This position may be filled at the level posted or at the next higher level.
Under general supervision and following established policies, this individual performs professional engineering assignments demonstrating understanding and application of materials engineering principles, theories, concepts and practices and exercising some independent profession judgement.

A Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline and two (2) years of directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree shall be in Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Polymer Science, Chemistry, or Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with Materials emphasis, or a related discipline.
Strong project planning, critical thinking, written and oral communication skills are required. Candidate must be able to work in a collaborative team environment and must be experienced using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint to communicate information. This position requires the ability to read and interpret drawings and prepare related specifications, as well as the ability to use test and other measurement equipment. Knowledge of and experience using continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. DMAIC/DMEDI, 5S, SPC) in the aerospace industry is desired.
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. citizenship) and must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information. Having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
Employee may need to work near moving mechanical parts and in loud working conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, chemicals or airborne particles. Laboratory work will also be required to evaluate materials and failure analysis.
In addition, employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat.
