ARDE, Inc., an Aerojet Rocketdyne Company, designs and manufactures pressure vessels (tanks) for aerospace applications.
We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer with aerospace experience for our location in Carlstadt, NJ.
This position will work in a metal manufacturing environment. This position needs candidates who are familiar with manufacturing methods including heat treating, welding, composites, NDT and inspection methods.
This position may be filled at the current level or at one level higher.
Working under limited general direction, the Senior Quality Engineer will develop, implement and administer various methods and procedures to ensure product quality. Design and plan product inspections to assure potential defects are minimized and product and system quality levels are maintained. Investigate root cause and implement corrective actions to assure efficient and effective system execution. Audit product and processes as required including vendor surveillance.
40% - Review procedures, purchasing documents, drawings, manufacturing travelers, process data, certifications for completeness and adequacy.
10% - Prepare and review product data packages.
5% - Establish and provide written procedures for quality assurance activities as related to product. Generate non-conformance reports based on inspection results.
5% - Generate inspection method sheet for inspectors.
5% - Participate in review and disposition or nonconforming materials.
5% - Investigate causes of system and hardware non-compliances.
5% - Prepare and maintain quality assurance program plans in accordance with prescribed standards.
5% - Administer the audit system using prescribed audit methods and checklists.
5% - Participate in customer audits and source inspections.
5% - Participate in technical, quality and commercial meetings with customers and suppliers.
10% - Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and at least 5 years of related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
US Citizenship required. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
10+ years of experience in an aerospace manufacturing operation with certification to ISO9100.
Ability to work autonomously and make effective decisions.
Knowledge of various materials (Inconel, Aluminum, Composites).
Knowledge of processes (heat treating, welding, NDT).
Knowledge of inspection methods.
Knowledge of ISO, EAR, and ITAR standards and regulations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
