We are seeking a Senior Structures and Dynamics Engineer to join our facility in Canoga Park, CA (Los Angeles area). This is an excellent opportunity to join a senior staff engaged in development and production activities related to new and existing propulsion technologies. In this role, you will perform structural dynamics and structural analyses as part of a team to provide design guidance and verify product designs meet structural and performance requirements.
60% - Perform structural dynamic analyses utilizing classic hand calculation methods and finite element models. Conduct static and dynamic structural analyses. Analyze dynamic response data from engine tests and shock/vibration testing. Correlate analysis models and test results. Provide assessment of the products ability to satisfy internal structural requirements as well as those flowed by the customer.
20% - Report status and results of analysis tasks at team meetings, design and program reviews.
20% - Prepare technical reports documenting all analysis activities.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline and five (5) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education. Master's degree desired, PhD a plus. Solid academic track record expected. Familiarity performing high frequency data analysis and supporting system and component testing desired. Coursework and experience in performing static and dynamic structural analyses supporting design, development and production qualification desired. Experience using finite element analysis tools such as Nastran preferred. Knowledge and experience with aerospace product development efforts a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is expected.
