We are seeking a Senior Systems Development & Test Engineer for our West Palm Beach, FL office. This position will support the RL10 upper stage rocket engine programs, reporting to the Sr. Manager, Systems Development, Verification & Test Engineering.
The selected candidate will perform a wide variety of systems engineering assignments requiring a wide application of advanced principles, theories and concepts in the field plus full knowledge of other related disciplines. The Systems Engineer will assist the chief engineer with team coordination and planning, interfacing with program management and customers. Provide leadership and discipline direction to less experienced engineers on team.
This position may be filled at the level posted or at the next higher level.
Working under limited general direction and exercising considerable latitude in determining materials and approaches, the employee independently determines and develops approaches to assignments.
90% - The candidate will be supporting and in some areas, leading RL10 development program activities, including system integration, engine system development & verification planning, development & qualification test planning, testing in various environments and locations (company owned and off-site test facilities), engine system and subsystem test, test equipment & facility coordination, test article assembly coordination & hardware assessment, instrumentation requirements and coordination, test readiness review & risk assessment and verification & test report documentation.
10% - Limited travel in support customer meetings and off-site testing as required.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or Systems Engineering or related technical discipline and five (5) years of directly related experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced degree desirable. Experience in verification planning, system & component level test, test facility operation and activation processes is desirable. Demonstrated leadership competency and solid communication skills, both verbal and written are required.
US Citizenship required. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Must be willing and able to travel domestically as needed.
