We are seeking a Component Product Engineer for the development, fabrication and test of propulsion systems combustion devices hardware. This position will be located in West Palm Beach, FL.
This position may be filled at this level posted or one level higher.
Position is for an engineer for the development of rocket engine systems hardware and engine hot-fire test planning. This position requires knowledge and experience with rocket engine combustion devices hardware design and development, manufacturing processes, and vendor integration. Tasks include development of trade studies, design concepts, systems integration and component and engine-level test plans. Hardware includes injectors, combustion chambers, nozzles, igniters.
Under general supervision, the Engineer determines approaches to objectives demonstrating a complete understanding and application of engineering principles, concepts, and practices.
40% - Development and production fabrication support of Combustion Devices rocket engine components (injectors, thrust chambers, nozzles). Translates engineering and scientific concepts from preliminary ideas through entire product life cycle.
10% - Test support for combustion devices components.
20% - Supplier integration with external vendors.
20% - Analyzes and verifies product design and performance for adequacy and reliability. Supports investigation and resolution of hardware and process anomalies and issues identified by preventative action/corrective action boards or safety initiative activities.
10% - Develops trade studies, design concepts, systems integration and component-level test plans.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field with at least 2 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
US Citizenship required. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Experience with liquid rocket propulsion systems desired. Experience working in an equivalent engineering design/development environment is desired.
