    Aerojet Rocketdyne seeks a Senior Analyst, Program Planning and Control (Production Control/Expediter/Scheduler) for our Culpeper, VA office.

     

    This position will support manufacturing operations to ensure the smooth flow of product and processes, analyze and manage all work in process within the factory, work with department leads on maintaining shop floor work priorities that are in line with MRP need dates, and ensure updates to Oracle ERP (MES, WIP, DELMIA) are current. Production Control/Scheduling participates in daily manufacturing stand up meetings to drive work priorities, confirm available resources (i.e. tooling, personnel, machine, etc.) availability, and facilitates the communication of productions issues engaging cross-functional support to maintain product flow and on-time delivery to customer by facilitating resolution to conflicts or schedule impact(s). Plan and coordinate with Material Planners to ensure all planning and material are ready and available for scheduled work, plan and coordination with ME/QE/DE to ensure process and/or technical requirements are met, and communication of product status to program and area managers.

     

    This current opening may be filled at this level or at one level higher.

    Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

    Working under limited general direction:

     

    40% - Coordinates all daily manufacturing work flow tasks to current schedule priorities with respective Managers/Leads. Uses current business system (Maestro/Oracle) to maintain shop floor schedules and priorities.

     

    20% - Tracks and manages the flow of raw materials and finish goods through manufacture/shop area, maintaining on-time delivery of product to the customer. Work with the product team to maintain on-time performance and performance to plan.

     

    20% - Identifies and communicates concerns in regards to issues on the shop floor and managing corrective actions to resolve potential scheduling impacts.

     

    10% - Develops, promotes, and implements continuous improvement activities that support the company business objectives that result in the improvement of operational performance (safety, processes, procedures, schedule, cost).

     

    10% - Support other duties as required.

    Requirements

    Requires a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and 6 years of related experience OR a Master's degree and 4 years of related experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

     

    Additional Requirements:

    • 4+ years of experience in production control in an aerospace and defense manufacturing environment.
    • Experience and knowledge of material process flow in a manufacturing environment.
    • Extensive knowledge of Oracle functionality including: WIP, MES, BOM, and Inventory modules.
    • Experience working with an integrated product teams to identify, analyze, and resolve manufacturing process problems and the ability to facilitate resolution to conflicts when they occur.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required

     

     

    Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

    Employees in these positions mustbe able to work in a manufacturing/shop floor environment which requires the ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. Employees in these positions must also possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
