    We are seeking a Director, Program Scheduling to join our Canoga Park, CA, Sacramento, CA or Huntsville, AL operation.

     

    This position involves leadership, development, and deployment of the Aerojet Rocketdyne Program Scheduling organization. Selected candidate will utilize his/her extensive Earned Value Management (EVM) knowledge and experience to consolidate and align all program schedulers to operate within this discipline while successfully interfacing with Integrated Master Planning, Master Production Scheduling, and Material Planning. Key hand-offs between disciplines must be implemented.

     

    This leadership responsibility will include building and fortifying a Program Scheduling organization to include distinct EVM/EV Lite, analytical, and reporting skills. Tool sets require assessment, selection, procurement, operational training, and program deployment. Key procedures, work instructions, and training require development and must be applied across the enterprise. Additionally, understanding Cost and Schedule integration requirements and assuring the program scheduling and business management organizations are aligned is essential.

    Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

    Initial role priorities include consolidating program schedulers and building the skill set to staff programs full EVM reporting requirements as well as tailoring EVM to meet program needs. The selected candidate’s organization will develop critical skills playing a significant and important role in planning and execution, partnering with both program office and other Centers of Excellence (COEs).

     

    Candidate will be required to define personnel job descriptions and levels, determine training requirements, personnel deployment strategies, skills retention/attraction, and career path opportunities. Also requires the creation of standard work processes and determining key metrics that demonstrate the effectiveness and alignment of multiple scheduling levels.

     

    40% - Assess current staffing, identify strengths and weaknesses, develop staffing plan and implement.

     

    20% - Define roles, responsibilities, tools, processes & methods necessary for Program Scheduling.

     

    15% - Ensure program schedule standard work is integrated with all necessary processes including EVM, Cost, and Master Production Scheduling.

     

    15% - Administer training for processes across the enterprise.

     

    10% - Lead transition activities for all Programs from the current to future state process.

    Requirements

    Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Program Management, Engineering or equivalent and at least fourteen (14) years of progressive experience that includes demonstrated proficiency leading teams through complex organizational, system and process related initiatives. Experience with compliance and audit criteria to ensure alignment with Government/Customer requirements is essential.

     

    US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

     

     

    Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

    Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
