Aerojet Rocketdyne seeks a Contract Analyst for our Canoga Park, CA location.
The Contract Analyst interprets the conditions and terms of contracts including fiscal and legal implications and advises management on all significant procedures and regulations affecting the contract. Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures, government regulations and industry protocols.
With limited general direction, the Contract Analyst applies expertise to contribute to the development of new concepts and techniques. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
Acts as liaison/consultant with external and internal customers on all matters affecting contractual agreements. Provides effective verbal and written communication.
This current opening may be filled at this level or at one level higher.
50% - Plan, conduct and direct projects or major phases of significant project assignment, coordinating the efforts of internal stakeholders in the performance of assigned activities. Administers moderate to large contracts of great complexity. Independently negotiates with the customer contract terminology, pricing, technical requirements, scope and terms. Recommends contract changes, including major revisions and coordinates the preparation and final negotiation of change orders, supplemental agreements, price re-determination, etc. affecting the life of the contract. Ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements to protect the company.
25% - Monitors internal progress of contracts with various business units to ensure fulfillment of contract requirements. Monitors and reviews for completeness, accuracy and conformance with Federal and Defense procurement regulations and company procedural requirements.
15% - Prepares all necessary internal reports for management and periodic reports to customer contracting officers/buyers as required.
10% - Assists in developing policies, procedures and practices relating to contract administration.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline and 3 years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
