    Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking a Executive Assistant to join our team at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi.


    This position has responsibility for all administrative functions for the General Manager and Site Operations including administrative support for seven (7) Sr. Managers (Engineering, Quality, Finance, Human Resources, SH&E, Logistics, IT) and four (4) Program Integrators (RS-25, RS-68, AR1, AR-22). Customer service skills are essential for this position. This is a demanding position and may require extended hours and significant coordination of visitors and special events. He/she will interface with various departments and teammates, including executive level personnel, customers and VIPs (elected officials' staff personnel);The successful individual will need to solve problems with limited direction, display a high degree of initiative and effectively communicate with personnel at all levels of the company. Additionally, this position will handle confidential and company-sensitive information with considerable discretion, judgment, tact and diplomacy. Manages multiple tasks simultaneously and rapidly adapts to changing circumstances.



    Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

    25% - Typical Senior Level Administrator roles for General Manager, Sr. Staff and initial contact for overal coordination of site level interfaces and outside organizations. Employee must have the ability to handle multiple actions simultaneously with frequent interruptions and time critical responsiveness.


    15% - NASA Badging Security Support: Requiring expertise and knowledge of badging requirements per NASA badging office for visitors and foreign national visitors and the limitations within their visit. Has to coordinate receiving documentation to support the foreign national's ability to visit the AR SSC plant with the NASA badging office.


    20% - Site Indirect Procurement responsibilities including stocking, ordering, and supporting supplies of 7 different Managers and their employees. Inventories and orders supplies for the main printers which support over 150 employees and temporary employees.


    25% - Aerojet Rocketdyne (AR) Stennis Point of Contact (POC) for AR Communications and NASA Public Affairs Office. Frequently is called away from desk to support higher level events and functions to support these offices. Frequently is required to coordinate conference rooms, lunches, visitor passes in order to support the visit which could occur multiple times in a day and/or week.


    15% - AR Security Badging for AR facility (Bldg. 9101) for approximately 2500 non-AR visitors/year. Inputs visitors, interviewees, other personnel into the EZ lobby system per the badging guidelines of 9101. Must coordinate the visitors entrance and exit and proper escorting of said visitors into 9101.


    Requires a high school diploma or equivalent preferred and 5 years of directly related administrative support experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


    US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.


    Additional Requirements:

    • Experience with customer satisfaction in a dynamic, highly technical and multiple tasking office environment.
    • Proven ability to successfully coordinate, communicate and execute employee, management and customer events.
    • Requires strong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
    • Experience with the Concur Travel and Expense reporting application is highly desirable.
    • Must be able to operate standard office equipment; to effectively interface with executive levels of personnel and work in a team environment; to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; and to effectively schedule and prioritize work flow.
    • Requires knowledge of typical office practices, policies and procedures, filing systems and record keeping.
    • Also requires knowledge of business correspondence, including rules of grammar, sentence structure, punctuation and spelling.


    Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

    Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
