    We are seeking a Specialist Engineer, Analysis/Systems Engineering for our Huntsville, AL office. This position will support the Large Solid Rocket Motor programs, reporting to the Senior Manager, System Development and Verification & Test Engineering.


    This position may be filled at the level posted or at the next higher level.

    Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

    Working under minimal direction, the incumbent exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment while independently determining and developing approaches to assignments.


    90% - Support, and in some areas, lead Large Solid Rocket Motor Programs and program development activities from our Huntsville, Alabama headquarters. Additional responsibilities include system integration, solid rocket system development & verification planning, test planning, testing in various environments, solid rocket system and subsystem test, test equipment & facility coordination, test article assembly coordination & hardware assessment, instrumentation requirements and coordination, test readiness review & risk assessment and verification & test report documentation.


    10% - Limited travel in support customer meetings and offsite testing as required.


    Requires a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or Systems Engineering or related technical discipline and Nine (9) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced degree desirable. Experience in test facility operation and activation processes is desirable. Demonstrated leadership competency and solid communication skills, both verbal and written are required.


    Must be willing and able to travel domestically as needed.


    US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.



    Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

    Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
