Aerojet Rocketdyne offers a complete line of propulsion products for launch vehicles ranging from missile defense to advanced hypersonic propulsion. We are seeking an EDM Operator B for a 2nd shift. However, the initial training will be on 1st shift. This position will be located at our facility in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Setup and perform machining operations to produce development hardware, tools, and other items on ram or wire electrical discharge machines (EDM), and a variety of machine tools that support tooling for those machines.
Required: 1-4 years of directly related experience. 2-3 years trade school highly desirable. High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Prior experience in the Aerospace industry is a plus.
Requires well-rounded knowledge of applied mathematics including, algebra, geometry, trigonometry and handbook formulae to read and interpret drawings, specifications and complicated sketches. Basic computer skills and the ability to navigate through manufacturing and quality systems.
Requires knowledge of: basic understanding of electricity applicable to EDM; machinability of a wide variety of materials and machine shop practices; and tooling, measuring instruments, holding device methods, procedures, and operating sequences; basic computer skills to complete electronic record keeping and reporting. Must be able to configure electrodes to adequately machine hardware/tooling to meet all required specifications.
US Citizenship required. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee is regularly expected to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop and kneel. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Employee will need to work near moving mechanical parts and in loud working conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, chemicals or airborne particles. The work environment may require a combination of indoor and outdoor activity (hot, cold, wet, humid conditions).
