    Coleman Aerospace, a division of Aerojet Rocketdyne, is a Tier 1 supplier of ballistic missile targets.  


    The Senior Manager of Financial Planning will be located at our Orlando, FL facility and will provide leadership to General Accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis in a $60M Government Contracting organization. The successful candidate will manage an organization responsible for timely financial reporting, accurate forecasting, and understanding those projections in relation to the division’s overall financial projections and their impact on revenue, profitability and cash flow.

    Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

    50% - Directly supervise General Accounting & Financial Planning and Analysis. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; staff development; planning, assigning, and directing work; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.


    50% - Provide overall business management support to program areas consisting of:

    • Assure month end closing meets established timelines and expectations.
    • Maintain an adequate system of Internal Controls over key financial activities.
    • Monitor quarterly SOX testing and compliance with internal controls.
    •           Understanding of relevant GAAP as it pertains to Government Contracting, especially Revenue Recognition Principles under ASC 606.
    • Understanding of the development and application of overhead rates in the organization’s cost structure, and the impact of rates on pricing, profitability and revenue.
    • Coordinate and develop the Annual Operating Plan, collaborating across all functions of the organization to accomplish.
    • Provide data for Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) Incurred Cost Audits, and other engagements, as required.
    • Prepare and submit five year Forward Pricing Rates to DCMA.
    • Update monthly forecast of revenue profit and cash flow, with analysis vs prior month forecast and AOP.
    • Assure timely delivery of all Financial Reporting requirements to Aerojet Rocketdyne on a monthly and quarterly basis.
    •           Provide Management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting cost and profitability.
    • Maintain Coleman Finance and Accounting policies in a current condition.


    Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or an appropriate related discipline and fourteen (14) years of progressively responsible experience in a directly related field. CPA or MBA preferred.


    US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

    • The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a pattern of increased responsibilities in prior organizations and positions.
    • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
    • Experience in working with external customers such as DCMA & DCAA.
    • Must be able to use computer software (word processing, spreadsheets, etc.) and hardware to accomplish basic job functions.
    • Knowledge of Deltek Costpoint is required.
    • Knowledge of government accounting and reporting requirements (Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), required.
    • Experience in a government contracting environment is required.
    • Experience in Financial Reporting and Financial Planning is required.
    • An audit background is preferred.
    • Experience in a Sarbanes Oxley environment in a Fortune 500 organization is also preferred.


    Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

    Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
