    Aerojet Rocketdyne seeks a Senior Compensation Analyst to work out of its Rancho Cordova, Canoga Park or El Segundo, CA location. This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Total Rewards and has the responsibility for conducting market pricing activities, providing guidance on job classification evaluations, and administering various compensation programs.

     

    This current opening may be filled at this level or at one level higher.

    Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

    100% - Work closely with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and Business Leaders to drive and influence compensation strategy within assigned client organizations.

    • Play a key role, along with other team members, in the planning and execution of the compensation programs including job architecture, annual compensation review, mid-year review and bonus plan administration.
    • Key role in benchmarking process and development/review of salary structures.
    • Partner with talent acquisition for offers and HR business partners on other compensation matters driving issues through to resolution.
    • Complete annual salary survey submissions.
    • Participate in projects related to compensation program design, implementation, and administration.
    • Apply knowledge of compensation policies and procedures to recommend and implement solutions.
    • Continuously identify opportunities to improve, automate and streamline processes.
    • Additional projects and responsibilities as required.

    Requirements

    Requires a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline and six (6) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    US Citizenship required. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

     

    Additional Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:

    • Strong knowledge of compensation theories and practices and a demonstrated ability in providing guidance and counsel to leaders and employees required.
    • The ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization is expected.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy is critical, as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks, shifting priorities and ambiguity while remaining flexible.
    • Proficiency in HR systems (including report writing) and MS Office, with advanced skills in Excel is required.
    • Certification in Compensation is strongly preferred.
    • Experience in a fast-paced engineering environment and manufacturing industry is preferred.
    • Proficiency in market analysis tools such as Market Pay is highly desirable.
    • Ability to travel as needed (5-15%).

     

    Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

    Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
