Aerojet Rocketdyne seeks an Sr. Analyst, General Ledger (GL) Accounting for our Sacramento, CA office. This position reports to the Senior Manager, GL Accounting and will be part of the team responsible for providing rapid and high-quality financial information. This position works within tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including monthly general ledger, sub-ledger and overhead closings, balance sheet and income statement flux analysis and quarter and year-end audit preparation.

40% - Performs professional accounting activities for specialized and complex assignments. Applies principles of accounting to prepare journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts and analyze financial information to ensure the accurate delivery of financial reports.
25% - Monitors intercompany account activity and facilitates the timely resolution to intercompany out of balances.
15% - Supports Finance management with special projects as assigned, including but not limited to (i) assisting in the development and implementation of systems to enhance automation and workflow within the department, (ii) researching and providing recommendations to management regarding complex accounting issues and (iii) executing process improvement activities.
10% - Performs monthly and quarterly variance and ad hoc analyses, ensuring that all financial information is presented clearly, consistently, and on time.
10% - Prepares and provides support of audit requests for external, internal and DCAA audits.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and at least six (6) years of experience in general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, financial analysis and reporting (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
US Citizenship required. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
