At Aerojet Rocketdyne, our employees help with space exploration by developing and manufacturing rocket engines that are used on satellites and spacecraft. We are currently seeking a CNC Programming Specialist to join our Machine Shop in Redmond, Washington. This is a day shift position that typically works Mondays through Thursdays from 5:00am to 3:30pm. Candidates must be willing and able to work overtime or other shifts as needed in order to meet product delivery schedules.
100% - Working with minimal direction from the Machine Shop Supervisor or designee, the Specialist CNC Programmer will expertly program (using MasterCAM or EspritCAM) for hardware to run on CNC lathes and mills. Typical duties include:

Requires a Bachelor's degree and at least 9 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Thorough knowledge of machining aerospace materials such as aluminum, tool, alloy, carbon steels, stainless steel, titanium, plastics and Inconel is needed. Must understand and be able to use trigonometry. Requires the willingness and ability to work overtime as necessary.
US Citizenship required. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a machine shop or manufacturing area, as well as a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
