We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join our growing team in our West Palm Beach, FL location.
In this role, you will provide program Quality Engineering support for assigned contracted programs spanning the life cycle of the program including design, development, production, test and supplier support.
You will utilize your intermediate knowledge of quality requirements, quality management systems, configuration management principles, and the material review board process.
Working direct general direction and exercising some autonomy, the incumbent in this position will determine and develop approaches to assignments including, but not limited to, the following:
60% - Analyze contractual and specification requirements for the development or modification of methods, procedures, and metrics needed to ensure that quality standards and practices are attained. Review, approve and release work instructions/procedures. Develop processes and systems that ensure the quality, reliability and system safety of company procured products and services. Understand and interpret required engineering drawings, specifications and technical manuals. Verify compliance with applicable drawings, specifications, procedures, and government requirements.
30%- Provide material review dispositions for nonconforming materials, parts and equipment. Perform corrective/preventive action and root cause analyses to reduce or eliminate nonconformances. Generate and review first articles.
10% - Analyze and compile performance reports and process control statistics in order to determine and improve process capability or product quality and reduce nonconformances.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: Other duties as assigned.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and at least 2 (two) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship). Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information. Having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
