Machinist 2 position performing CNC Machining functions, working to tight tolerances and fabricating specialty metal products in a lean manufacturing industrial machining environment. Position will report to Manufacturing Operations Supervisor.

80% - Set up and operation of various machinery and shop equipment with little or no supervision. Advanced data collection activities. Fabrication of precision-machined parts while maintaining a safe work environment, meeting quality requirements, customer specifications, and shipment schedules. Various equipment is defined as but not limited to: CNC machinery, lathes, mills, presses, micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.
10% - Troubleshoot processes and report feedback to supervisor; identify and escalate out-of-control processes.
10% - Perform routine maintenance and complete daily paperwork and keep work area neat and clean. May be required to provide assistance in other areas of the facility as necessitated by production requirements.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred and 1 year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education/experience. Associate’s degree in related field and one (1) year of experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment preferred. Position requires at least one (1) years of experience as a CNC Machinist. Must possess working knowledge and be able to perform in-process inspection of finished parts utilizing appropriate inspection and gaging equipment. Must be able to work 10 hours plus per shift, able to work any shift (1st, 2nd or 3rd), work overtime as required and be able to work on weekends as required. Requires the ability to work in a team environment and relate to all levels of employees. This is a non-smoking facility in accordance with the Tennessee Non-Smoker Protection Act.
US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
