    Aerojet Rocketdyne is a world-recognized aerospace and defense leader providing propulsion and energetics to its space, missile defense, strategic, tactical missile and armaments customers throughout domestic and international markets. We are currently seeking an experienced precision GTA Welder (gas tungsten arc) for our facility in Redmond, WA. This is a day shift position that typically works Mondays through Thursdays from 5:30am to 4:00pm, but candidates must be willing and available to work other shifts or overtime as needed to meet delivery schedules.

    Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

    100% - Under limited supervision, performs welding on parts and assemblies, stressed and pressurized company equipment and tooling, on metals and alloys. Determines and sets correct amperage, voltage and speed of travel on hand welding. Performs fitting and layout in conjunction with welding operations. Welding tasks are complex and requires considerable skill - small, precision welds on specialty metals. May suggest improvements to existing processes.


    Requires a high school diploma (or equivalency) and at least 3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Technical training in welding preferred. The successful candidate must be willing and able to obtain welding certification as required by the company. Requires the ability to read and interpret detail and assembly blueprints and other reference information. The ability and willingness to work overtime as needed in order to meet production requirements is essential.


    U.S. Citizenship required.  Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.


    Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel items. The employee is regularly expected to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop and kneel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, chemicals or airborne particles.
