We are bringing about 800 new jobs to Huntsville, Alabama and building a state-of-the art advanced manufacturing facility. Defense-related engineering, program management, and related support positions will be housed at this site, home of Aerojet Rocketdyne's Defense headquarters and Rocket Shop Defense Advanced Programs.
Aerojet Rocketdyne is currently seeking a Senior Material Planner to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama. In this role, you will be part of our Scheduling and Material Planning organization which works across the whole company and plays a key role from proposal to product delivery. We are looking for a highly analytical, self-motivated, and organized individual. Candidates will work in a dynamic position with a diverse product range.
This current opening may be filled at this level as posted or at one level higher.
Working under general supervision:
50% - Review Material Requirements Plan (MRP); problem-solve exception messages. Release Supplier Requisitions and Shop Orders for both Bill of Material (BOM) and independent demand requirements. Identify and initiate Program Inventory Surplus/Close Out.
30% - Support Senior Analyst. Analyze program demand, create requisitions, maintain horizontal plan or line of balance for consumable items, initiate material transfers, create new Part Numbers, and other as required tasks.
20% - Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned to support the specific program effort.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management/Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or other related discipline and at least 6 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
US Citizenship required. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Analytical thinking and problem solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-function/cross-site teams.
Operations, Procurement, Scheduling and Engineering Value Stream experience, or demonstrated willingness to learn.
Willingness to learn Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) such as Delmia, ASCP, Oracle Enterprise Business Suite, MS Office.
Prior Oracle/Delmia/Windchill Experience.
American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) Certification.
Demonstrated Lean Experience or Certification.
