    Boeing has contracted with AR to deliver (6) Post-Certification Mission production shipsets for the Starliner Commercial Crew program. Reporting to the Program Management Sr. Director, Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking a Senior Specialist to join the Program Management Center of Excellence at our Canoga Park, California location. We are looking for a dynamic leader who will be eager to make an impact in human space exploration.

     

    This position may be filled at the level posted or at the next higher level.

    Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

    The Program Management Sr. Specialist will work with other program personnel to lead and manage all aspects of the program, including contract execution, financial and delivery performance, staffing, and cusomer relationships.

     

    Specific duties include:

    • Plan program execution in accordance with the contractual requirements
    • Ensure the program is adequately resourced with well-qualified staff
    • Manage cost, schedule and technical performance
    • Coordinate activities among functional areas to ensure efficient execution
    • Maintain technical, schedule, cost and contract baselines and control changes
    • Contribute toward accomplishing AR's annual plan and strategic objectives
    • Identify and actively manage program risks and improvement opportunities
    • Assess the strengths of the program and identify areas for improvement
    • Communicate with customers and other key stakeholders
    • Prepare program reports/briefings/reviews for customers and executives

    Requirements

    Requires a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline and at least (15) years of progressively responsible experience in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. An advanced degree and knowledge of AR procedures/processes are a plus.

     

    U.S. Citizenship required.

    Skills necessary:

    • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams
    • Experienced in applying earned value, financial and risk management principles
    • Familiarity with proposal development and contract management processes
    • Knowledgeable about integrated master planning/scheduling
    • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project
    • Experience in the aerospace and defense industry would be a plus

    Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

    Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
