We need an experienced Supervisor – Manufacturing Operations at our Canoga Park, CA Space Systems headquarters facility. This position monitors work operations on a daily basis and actively assists or provides direction to direct reports.
Candidates must be willing and available to work other shifts or overtime as needed to meet production schedules.

This position is responsible for directing the daily activities related to execution of the Space Propulsion Assembly Center of Excellence (SPACE) work centers located at the Aerojet Rocketdyne Canoga Park (Los Angeles) site. This supervisory position is responsible for the performance of all 2nd shift hourly assembly personnel in supporting all current and future propulsion program assembly needs.
This position is a direct report to the Manager, Assembly.
25% - Managing direct labor charging to ensure regulatory compliance. Managing work assignments to maximize the utilization of resources, meet delivery requirements, and achieve efficiency targets. Maintaining employee training, certifications, and critical skills.
30% - Directing daily work assignments within the SPACE work center to meet quality, cost, and schedule commitments. Leading cross-functional team members to interpret assembly & test hardware processing requirements. Coordinating technical support to ensure hardware velocity. Maintaining tooling and work center readiness & compliance (calibration, preventative maintenance, and Foreign Object Elimination controls).
15% - Identifying, reporting, and eliminating unsafe acts & unsafe conditions within the SPACE work centers. Leading relentless root cause analysis investigations while striving for mistake-proof Level 1 corrective and preventive actions.
30% - Implementing actions to achieve safety, quality, cost, and performance improvement goals; regular application of Lean manufacturing tools and techniques to SPACE assembly & test processes. Interprets and executes policies that typically affect subordinate organizational groups.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 5 years of progressive experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

US Citizenship required. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
The work environment is a 100,000 class clean room. Smocks, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes are required. Additional personal protective equipment may be required. The position includes a varied amount of walking, standing, sitting. Work duties also require working in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer. Stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
