    We are seeking a Senior Tax Manager for our El Segundo, CA Corporate HQ office. The Senior Tax Manager is a key role reporting directly to the Director of Tax and will be responsible for all aspects of tax reporting, including ASC740 income tax accounting and related SEC reporting, and tax compliance for US Federal, State, and local taxes. The Senior Tax Manager will support tax planning initiatives, tax forecasting, and other projects as required to support business unit and department needs.

    Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)


    • Manage the preparation and review of U.S. federal, State, and local/franchise tax filings and ensure accuracy and timely submission.
    • Manage all aspects of the Company’s ASC 740 income tax provision process, tax accounting, and related financial statement disclosures. Interface with business units, senior management, and independent auditors on income tax related matters.
    • Assess, monitor, and maintain appropriate documentation for ASC 740-10 FIN 48 reserves.
    • Ensure Company’s income tax accounting review and documentation of processes and systems are in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley internal control requirements.
    • Assist Director in tax forecasting of cash taxes and analysis of quarterly and annual effective tax rates projections.
    • Provide technical support for non-income tax filings and data requests by other departments or external firms.
    • Research and interpret income tax guidance. Suggest tax planning ideas based on tax research.  Document tax findings and positions in memorandums.
    • Manage credits and incentives initiatives with external advisors.
    • Assist with Federal and state tax audits and respond to various tax notices received from federal, state, and local taxing authorities.
    • Interface with Company, government, and customer representatives to resolve tax related issues.
    • Provide tax guidance and support to business units
    • Assist with special projects as necessary, including tax research, tax planning strategies, process improvement initiatives, mergers & acquisitions, etc.


    Requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Tax or Accounting. CPA preferred; Masters in Taxation a plus.


    Additional Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:

    • 8-12 years of work experience with a minimum 6+ years of experience in Big 4 public accounting firm or equivalent experience in tax department of a large corporation preferred.Strong technical proficiency in ASC 740.
    • Strong technology skills required, with proficiency in Excel (Microsoft Office).
    • Experience with Corptax, FAS, and tax research sites like RIA highly desirable.
    • Must be a detail-oriented, organized thinker with strong accounting and analytical skills.
    • High degree of accuracy and proven ability to meet deadlines in a time sensitive environment.
    • Self-motivated with strong work ethics to drive projects to completion.
    • The individual must have the highest standards of integrity, business controls, and business practices.
    • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of personnel, across functions, organizations, and with external contacts.
    • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively.

    US Citizenship required. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.




    Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

    Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
