We offer a complete line of propulsion products for launch vehicles, missile defense, and advanced hypersonic propulsion.

     

    We currently have a need for a Specialist, Program Management in our Canoga Park, CA facility.

     

    This position may be filled at this level or one level higher.

    Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

    70% - Manage Enterprise additive manufacturing team (AMT) detailed work scope. 

    • The position requires evaluation of all program needs across AR (Space and Defense) for opportunities to apply advanced materials and/or manufacturing processes, inclusive of additive manufacturing. 
    • Prioritization of the proposed technology development concepts required to develop an appropriate IR&D budget and plan to execute to the highest impact concepts. 
    • Manage a cross-functional team to effectively develop the materials and/or process to the desired maturity state. 
    • Update the Enterprise Additive Manufacturing Standard and Design Reference Handbook to reflect recent advances. 
    • Function as Integration lead with 3DMT site to ensure full utilization of the capabilities at 3DMT to support internal and external program opportunities. 

     

    30% - Shape, bid, capture and manage technology contracts for advanced materials and manufacturing. 

    • These will include Metals Affordability Initiative (MAI) contracts as well as others such as SBIR / STTR subcontracts for Phase I-II-IIE efforts. 
    • Additional consortium contract management required for projects as they emerge as well. 
    • Support Space and Defense business unit bid and proposal teams as the subject matter expert in advanced materials and manufacturing technologies with proposal content and leadership

    Requirements

    Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or Mathematics and at least nine (9) years of experience with management of propulsion component design, development and manufacturing (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).

    • Experience with program planning, IMS development, risk and opportunity analysis, contract change management, control account management, work package development, earned value management (EVM), and program execution for cost reimbursable and fixed price programs.
    • Demonstrated success in leadership and management of both development and production programs in a dynamic, matrixed environment.

    US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Advanced degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or Business.
    • Working knowledge of additive manufacturing and advanced materials & processes.
    • Ability to scope diverse technology program efforts and manage them through completion.
    • Proven ability to utilize excellent oral and written communication skills to build successful teams; presentation skills appropriate for executive-level briefings.

    Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
    Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail in a fast paced environment, may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, as well as hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. May be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
